초록

A specific experimental method, the Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar technique, has been widely utilized to characterize the dynamic material properties under the impact compressive/tensile loading conditions with strain rate of the order of ~ /sec. In this paper, dynamic deformation behaviors of some rubber materials commonly used for the isolation of vibration from varying structures under dynamic compressive loading are determined using a Polymer Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar technique. The major findings from this experimental investigation are: The effect of the strain rate on the dynamic deformation behavior of rubber materials has been turned out to be very large. The dynamic transition point stresses are found to vary on a large scale with respect to the dynamic strain. The relationship between transition point stress and the log strain rate to be bilinear.
