초록
We have studied photon pair generation by using the four-wave-mixing (FWM) in a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) for potential use as an entangled photon source in quantum cryptography. Our scheme uses the non-degenerate FWM effect with two pump beams of orthogonal polarizations and one signal beam. The efficiency and maximum output power of the generated FWM signals are measured.
