In vitro model development of traumatic spinal cord injury

초록

Traumatic injury to the spinal cord induces reactive glial cells and leads to permanent disease including Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson disease. At that time, damaged myelin or glial scar and fibrotic scar derived from activated glial cells prevent neurons from regenerating. There are many studies about the importance of molecular response after injury. In vitro spinal cord injury (SCI) model have been developed but, their comparative research has not been done. We made in vitro SCI conditions by several approaches and comparative their characteristics because various conditions exist in our body. This result is useful for drug comparative research for SCI or axonal biology. In addition, it is possible to understand CNS system.
