Polypyrrole-coated Heated Tobacco Biomass-derived Materials as Active Materials for Supercapacitor Applications
초록
Heated tobacco biomass waste is recycled as an active material for supercapacitor electrodes. Tobacco leaves and filter tubes are collected and carbonized under an N2 atmosphere at 800, 850, and 900 ℃. The resulting materials (HTW-800/850/900) are used as electrode materials by mixing with PVDF and NMP. Electrochemical analysis reveals that HTW-850 exhibits the highest specific capacitance of 99.7 F g-1. To further enhance performance, polypyrrole is deposited onto HTW-850 (HTW-850@PPy), increasing specific capacitance to 154.8 F g-1 due to the pseudocapacitive effect of the conducting polymer. An asymmetric supercapacitor, assembled using HTW-850 and HTW-850@PPy as negative and positive electrodes, achieves 31.0 F g-1 with an expanded voltage window of 2.0 V. This study presents an effective approach to recycling biomass waste into eco-friendly energy materials. 본 연구는 2025년도 산업통상자원부 및 산업기술기획평가원(KEIT) 연구비 지원에 의한 연구임(RS-2022-00156073).
