Photon Emission Probabilites of a Group of Partially Excited Atoms inside a Cavity

Recently, a single atom interacting with a single mode radiation field inside a cavity, in contact with a thermal reservoir, has been considered and the decay process of atomic energy has been investigated as the transmittance of the end mirrors of the cavity varies. When the transmittance of mirrors exceeds a certain value, the atom does not decay at all effectively. This was argued in terms of true modes, which are important when the coupling between the cavity field and the resevoir becomes large.
