3 차원 자유곡선 설계를 위한 멀티터치 테이블 탑 기반의 UI 개발

초록

Definition of geometric objects is basic task in product design of CAD. User interface such as a mouse and keyboard are still the most common devices for CAD systems. It isn’t easy to provide an efficient object motion or definition in 2D or 3D space with such devices. The UI(User Interface) technique used in this paper utilizes the Table-Top display combined with the multi-Touch gesture. A tangible user interface for designers changes the way in which the designers perceive and interact with CAD and geometry design. Table-Top display is assembled by single focal projector, infrared LED, diffuser, reinforced glass and two infrared-cameras. A rearprojection multi-touch tabletop display was combined with hand tracking utilizing computer vision techniques. Touch detection by FTIR(Frustrated Total Internal Reflection) is used for capturing interaction with tabletop display. We combine touch detection and hand tracking techniques in order to allow designers to interact with the geometric object. We have implemented an example of B-Spline curve design run on the TUI(Tangible User Interface). Considering design activities occurring on a tabletop display, interface between designers and CAD will become more interactive, which should support the design of various geometries.
