A Study on Creative Place making by use of Urban Geography

초록

Despite of the geographical crisis involved in the built environment, it is true that both urban and architectural designs are often proceeded hastily without specific knowledge on physical geography or topographical physiognomy. In particular, in the case of Seoul, surrounded by mountains, rapid urbanization and city expansion has left topographical scars all over the city, of which some clearly reveals the disastrously chopped section of nature. Such sight not only spoils the beauty of the city but also kills the sense of place indigenous to the site. Premising the fact that the configuration of land itself retains the sense of place within the urban context, the study insists on how to create 'Green space' as a new urban system and creative socialization through architectural representation.
