저가의 측정 장비를 이용한 모터와 변속기 통합 효율 맵 도출 기법

초록

Even though brushless DC motors are known to be efficient, there exist ranges of rotational speeds and torques that a motor can maintain its peak efficiency. In addition, the efficiency of Electronic Speed Controllers is not a constant. This paper presents a process of obtaining a motor-ESC combined efficiency map using a low cost measurement equipment. First, the accuracy of the equipment is verified using propeller test data. And then, by performing static measurements of various propellers, the combined efficiencies are measured for a wide range of rpm and torque, which leads to an efficiency map. These maps will be useful for the design optimization of electric propulsion systems, especially for applications where the propulsion efficiency is critical.
