Feedback Cancellation using Speech Presence Probability in Variable Step-Size of Affine Projection Algorithm

Proposed is a novel technique to improve the performance of feedback cancellation employing speech presence probability (SPP) for the affine projection algorithm (APA) based on variable step-size (VSS). The variable step-size of the proposed VSS-based APA is controlled according to the SPP. As a result, the coefficient weight vector of the adaptive filter is updated by the probability of the speech presence. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional feedback cancellation method.
