초록

This thesis intends to investigate the use of grid appeared in architectural design throughout history, in order to proceed a comparative study on the use of grid in contemporary architecture after modernism. The argument concentrates on the formation and use of grid as a guidance to construct design thinking and process, the transformation of the role of grid in making architecture, and meaning of grid as an important constituent in architectural composition, particularly after modernism, in the progressive and 'post-' point of view.
