LV mass: A case of lipoma arising from papillary muscle.

Left ventricular tumor is seldomly reported. We herewith describe a case of lipoma arising from posteromedial papillary muscle of the left ventricle in a 42-year-old male. The tumor was arising from the base of papillary muscle and was tightly adherent to the adjacent myocardium to the apical direction. It was surgically removed including papillary muscle and surrounding myocardium. The mitral valve was replaced with a prosthesis. His postoperative recovery was uneventful.
