초록
This paper describes dielectric characteristics and discharge mechanism of SF6 stressed by transient overvoltage in an inhomogeneous field. Breakdown voltage-time (V-t) and breakdown voltage-gas pressure(V-p) characteristics are experimentally investigated with positive and negative non-oscillating and oscillating impulse voltages. As a result, the dependence of the V-t and V-p characteristics on the polarity of applied voltage is known to be appreciable and related to the predischarge mechanisms. The time to breakdown for the negative oscillating impulse voltage is widely scattered in the long time region. The V-p character-istics are more dependent on the gas pressure in the negative polarity than in the positive polarity.
