Application of a Floating Offshore Container Terminal in Inchon, Korea

To cope with rapid increase of trade volume in Yellow sea region, a hup port is strongly required for large container vessels. It is not recommended to complete to have many hup ports in the region that will need a tremendous initial financial burden. Also without securing a certain number of shipping lines, the ports would become under utilization with poor efficiency. Considering a heavy increase of cargo volume between Korea and China, and existing many small harbours in China along Yellow sea coastal lines, a hup port formed as VLFCT is suggested in Inchon Korea.
