초록
Having strong current caused by high tidal range of up to 10m on the west coast of Korea, the tidal current power is practical application. Also due to the uneven sea floor and narrow channels between islands on the south coast, there are many locations with high current speed. Therefore tidal current power would be the most applicable and practical energy source in Korea. To investigate the application of HAT (Horizontal Axis Turbine) current power technology in Daebang Straight, the intensive ocean survey has been conducted for 3D topography, current speed and direction and soil type. The current distribution analysis was performed to generate the current speeds around the region. The capacity of power generation farm can be estimated form the current distribution and lay out of the power units. The paper introduces the results of current velocity distribution analysis and interaction simulations of tidal current power units.
