Development of fatigue life prediction system - The influential factors on Sensor attachment

초록

A Study on influential factors for sensor attachment method is an essential process for developing FIS(Fatigue Indicator Sensor) to predict fatigue life of ship and offshore structures before fatigue cracks occur. FIS should be durable under the principal load: static, dynamic and fatigue load, and the stress level on the FIS should be similar to one of structural member for an accurate prediction system. As an attachment method, Epoxy adhesive bond is used instead of welding or rivet joint occurring large deformation. Several adhesive bonds are selected and experiments are carried out to find the appropriate attachment method. An adhesive bond and attachment method are defined in consideration of the influential factors such as adhesive area, and curing time. Optimal adhesive bond and attachment condition are derived from the experiment results and are going to be applied for developing the prediction sensor.
