Effect of Various Conducting Polymers on Metal Oxides in Electrorheological Application

초록

In this study, metal oxide nanospheres (MONs) coated with conducting polymers are designed as dispersing materials for electrorheolocal (ER) fluids. MONs are first synthesized by depositing TiO2 shells onto SiO2 templates, followed by removal of the template through sonication-assisted NH4OH etching to form hollow structures. Subsequently, various conducting polymers, including polythiophene, polypyrrole, and polyaniline, are uniformly introduced onto MONs by vapor deposition polymerization o enhance the polarizability. The resulting materials are dispersed in silicone oil (3.0 wt%) to formulate ER fluids. Among them, polythiophene-covered MONs-dispersed ER fluid exhibits the highest ER performance, attributed to its superior ability to accumulate space charges under an applied electric field. - 본 연구는 정부(과학기술정보통신부)의 재원으로 한국연구재단의 지원을 받아 수행된 연구임 (RS-2025-16070620).?
