Wound Healing Assay in a Nano-Wrinkled Surface Integrated Microfluidic Device

초록

Cells are exposed to environmental changes in nanoscale through their life-time. Recently the effects of nano-scale environments to division and growth of cells have been actively studied with in vitro cell culture platforms [1]. In this research, we simply fabricated nano-wrinkled surfaces with biocompatible PDMS (Polydimethylsiloxane) polymer and analyzed the cellular behaviors, specifically cell migration, on the wrinkled surfaces. We integrated a nano-wrinkled PDMS surface with microfluidic system which can mimic wound healing process. Nano-wrinkles were variously aligned along to a microchannel from 0 to 90 degree. We acquired real time images of cell migration on the wrinkled pattern and found that simply fabricated nano-grooved surface guided the morphology and migration of cells, even the intercellular cytoskeleton structure.
