Dynamic Behavior of Crushable Sand

초록

Though many models to predict maximum dynamic shear modulus of silica sands were presented, the direct application of those models to crushable glauconitic sand would be difficult because of crushability during torsion. In this research maximum shear modulus of glauconitic sand is evaluated. The shear modulus of loose crushable sand shows similar results to silica sand. However, as the density of crushable sand increases the maximum shear modulus deviates from the presented model for non-crushable sands. The results of lower modulus at higher densities are attributed to the crushability of sands. And modulus number is expressed in terms of state parameter.
