초록
Korea, classified as an Article 5 country under the Montreal protocol, has expended a great deal of efforts to comply with the protocol for the past 10 years by phasing out ozone depleting substances (ODSs) used in various applications as chemical solvents, refrigerants, foam blowing agents, and fire extinguishing agents. In this paper, Korean government's policies, regulations and public relations, industry efforts, and various research laboratories’ contribution toward the phase-out of ODSs will be presented with statistical data. Korea's endeavor toward the complete phase-out of ODSs will be of great interest to other developing countries.
