Optimal Design of Air Purifier Flow System based on Design Parameter Correlations

초록

In this study, The correlations between optimal design goals of air purifier and geometric form factors were developed and verified. Researches have focused on performance and geometric parameters such as fan diameter, rotational speed, filter type, and flow path. The analyzed data were compared with measured ones to check the reliability of correlations among them. Based on the correlations data, similarities were used to determine the inherent changes in static pressure, power consumption, and the sound level of the system. After identifying the design operating point where the resistance curve of the filter and the performance curve of the fan meet, the purifying area by the KS standard(KS C 9314) is estimated. A prototype based on the optimized design variables confirmed that the cleaning capacity, power consumption, and noise level meet the design goals according to the standard by a certifying organization. As a conclusion, the design procedure for the compactness design can be accelerated by the correlations among the form factors and performance criteria.
