초록

Chitin has many useful biological properties such as biocompatibility, biodegradability, and wound healing properties. However, chitin has poor solubility. The lack of solubility is mainly due to its highly crystalline structure. Chitosan is the deacetylated products of chitin. In this study partially deacetylated chitins with various degrees of deacetylation(DD) were prepared by alkaline treatment under homogeneous condition. The effect of DD on the solubility and crystal structure of chitin was studied.
