Characteristic Behavior of a T-stub Connection Under Shear, Including the Effects of Prying Action and Bolt Pretension
초록
The T-stub connection, a type of partially restrained connection, shows different behavioral characteristics according to the changes in the thickness of the T-stub flange and in the number, diameter, and gauge distance of the high-strength bolts. This study was conducted to determine the effects of the bolt pretension and prying action of the high-strength bolt on the initial rotational stiffness and plastic moment capacity of the connection, selecting a T-stub connection in which the T-stub flange displays flexural-yielding failure mode characteristics. For this, three-dimensional nonlinear finite element analysis was carried out, and based on the analysis results, the improved models for both prying action and bolt pretension were suggested.
