Fabrication of High-performance Asymmetric Supercapacitors Based on Carbon Nanofiber/Metal Oxide/PPy Composites

In this study, high-performance asymmetric supercapacitors are fabricated using hierarchical structured carbon nanofiber/metal oxide/polypyrrole (CNF/MO/PPy) composites as electrode materials. The hierarchical CNF/MO/PPy composites are synthesized following the sequential electrospinning, hydrothermal, and oxidative polymerization. CNFs are fabricated via electrospinning with polyacrylonitrile (PAN) solution, followed by carbonization. Subsequently, SnO2 and Fe2O3 are deposited onto the CNFs using a hydrothermal, and PPy coating by oxidative polymerization. The as-prepared CNF/SnO2/PPy and CNF/Fe2O3/PPy electrodes exhibit high specific capacitances of 416.4 and 402.5 F g-1. Furthermore, an asymmetric capacitor demonstrated the capacitance of 101.3 F g-1. Hence, this study proposes a potential method for fabricating high-performance asymmetric anode materials. 본 연구는 2025 년도 산업통상자원부 및 산업기술기획평가원(KEIT) 연구비 지원에 의한 연구임(RS-2022- 00156073).
