초록

The low-Z particle electron probe X-ray microanalysis (low-Z particle EPMA) and Raman microspectrometry (RMS) techniques were used to investigate chemical characteristics of aerosol samples collected at three sites of Jeju island, i. e., Gosan Korea Climate Observatory, Jeju Air Pollution Station (JAPM), and Halla mountain (1,100 m a.s.l.) on April 16 and 17, 2012. Individual particles were classified into 11 types, among which sea spray aerosols (SSAs) and soil-derived mineral particles were dominant, based on their morphology and chemical compositions. On April 16, the proportions of reacted SSAs and mineral particles increased with the increasing distance from the coastal area and the altitude. On April 17, SSAs were more abundant in all samples compared to those on April 16. A noticeable number of SSAs combined with organics based on their Raman spectra were observed except the PM1-2.5 sample collected at 1100 Hill. At the same sampling site, particles containing organics were more abundant in PM2.5-10 samples compared to that of PM1-2.5. A relatively high number of (C,N,O,S)-containing particles were observed in PM1-2.5 sample collected at 1100 Hill and their Raman spectra clearly showed that they contain (NH4)2SO4. Further analysis is ongoing to obtain better detailed information on chemical characteristics of the ambient particles collected at the different places in Jeju island.
