CoMFA and CoMSIA Studies of Arylpiperazines with Serotonin-3 (5-HT3) Antagonist Activity

Serotonin in an interesting molecule found in various parts of human body and its role in the brain is believed to play an important role to the transmittance of the signal in the central nervous system. Recently, it is known that mental depressant is caused by the malfunction of the serotonin in the brain. In this study, comparative molecular field analysis (CoMFA) and comparative molecular similarity indices analysis (CoMSIA) are applied to antagonists of the 5-HT3 receptor.
