초록
The noise radiated from a vacuum cleaner has generally high sound pressure due to suction of intake air. The turbulence noise of the air intake makes a customer feel that a vacuum cleaner has a good performance. Until now, a lot of research has been done to reduce high sound pressure level on a vacuum cleaner. However, if the sound pressure level is low then cleaner-users could be think that the vacuum cleaner seems to be problem on the performance. Therefore, there is a trade-off problem between performance and noise reduction. This problem is completely sound quality problem and a new method to evaluate the sound quality of a vacuum cleaner is demanded based on the human sensibility. In this paper, the sound index is developed for the evaluation of the sound quality of the vacuum cleaner based on the human sensibility. This sound quality index is developed by using the artificial neural network technology.
