Multi-arrayed tidal current power interaction study
초록
There are numbers of tidal current projects being planned and constructed in South Korea. A tidal current farm is necessary with multi-arrangement in the ocean to extract a great quantity of power. The power generation is dependent on the size of rotor and incoming flow velocity. An interaction study between rotating rotors considering axial, transverse, and diagonal arrangements was carried out. The axial interference was much more significant than the transverse or diagonal directions. Power generation could be heavily affected from the interference of devices. It is very important to optimize the device arrangement to maximize the power efficiency of the power farm. The repeat shape could be generated quickly with offset mesh merge method. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 2009 International Offshore and Polar Engineering Conference (Osaka, Japan 6/21-26/2009).
