The effect of a few genetic polymorphism on childhood asthma

소아 천식에서 유전전 다형성의 영향

초록

We enrolled 30 childhood asthma patients and 30 controls. We evaluated genetic polymorphism of GSTM1 and GSTT1, and urinary 1-OH-pyrene as the marker of exposure to PAHs. Polymorphism of GSTM1 is related strongly with 1-OH-pyrene. The risk of asthma was frequent 3.5 times more than control groups in the group of wild GSTM1 genotype and high 1-OH-pyrene levels comparing to those with wild GSTM1 genoetype and low 1-OH pyrene levels. It increased to 4.5 times with null GSTM1 genotype and low 1-OH-pyrene levels. However, it was 9 times more with both null GSTM1 and high level of 1-OH-pyrene. The risk of ashtma can be increased with exposure to PAHs and genetic polymorphism related to the metabolism of them.
