초록

Herein, we investigate the stability of current collectors for aluminum-ion batteries employing aluminum chloride in 1-ethyl-3methylimidazolium chloride as the electrolyte under severe environments, confirming that nickel metal is electrochemically and chemically unstable in the expanded operating potential window, thus leading to the failure of cell operation and maintenance. The molybdenum current collector exhibits fairly stable and reversible redox cycling in the expanded potential window without any side effects or reactions, thus leading to the enhanced capacity of approximately 85 mAh g(-1) at an extremely high current density of 4000 mA g(-1).
