무릎골관절염의 평가에서 초음파영상은 방사선사진 소견에 추가적 가치가 있다

초록

Background: Recently, ultrasonography (USG) of joints has attained a firm position for the diagnosis of joint diseases. Bone, cartilage, periarticular soft tissue as well as inflammatory changes can be recognized using this method. This study aimed to compare the radiographic and USG findings in OA of the knee joint and to evaluate the efficacy of each study to find the abnormality. Method: 50 osteoarthritis patients classified by the ACR clinical criteria from December 2002 to April 2003 were included in the study. Routine radiography(standing anteroposterior, lateral, skyline view) and systemic USG examination of the knee were preformed. We compared the incidence of the radiographic and sonographic abnormality supporting the diagnosis of the knee OA and the findings suggesting the cause and severity of the OA that would help to decide the therapy mode. Result: Of 50 patients, 13 patients showed normal finding in radiography, but USG found more than one abnormalities in the knee joint in all patients.
