We propose a direct-view type super multi-view (SMV) near-eye display using a micro lens array (MLA) and point light source array (PLSA). The proposed system utilizes the MLA to reduce the thickness of the system while projecting the real image of the PLSA to the pupil which serves as a viewpoint. By using a dynamically controllable PLSA, the viewpoint position can be adjusted to provide 3D images with a SMV technique. © 2024 The Author(s)
