초록

Strain IMCC14736, a member of the OM43 clade within the family Methylophilaceae, was isolated from coastal seawater of the East Sea, Korea, using a dilution-to-extinction culturing method. The complete genome consists of a single contig of 1,286,469 bp with a DNA G + C content of 34.3% and encodes 1,358 predicted protein-coding genes. Genes involved in C1 compound metabolism, including a lanthanide-dependent methanol dehydrogenase gene (xoxF), were identified. Average nucleotide identity analysis showed that strain IMCC14736 is conspecific with strain LSUCC0665 (97.6%) and distinct from strains KB13 (86.7%) and HTCC2181 (66.8%). Based on phylogenetic and genomic evidence, the name “Candidatus Methylolitoribacter marinus” is proposed. © 2026 Microbiological Society of Korea. All rights reserved.
