Polyaniline nanofibers-coated polystyrene/graphene oxide core-shell microspheres composites

초록

Recently, it has been demonstrated that the high performance of the polymer composites strongly, depends on the efficiency of the interfacial interaction, and the uniform morphology within the polymer matrix. The interfacial interaction is crucial to improve the properties of polymer, while graphene cannot be dispersed in water or organic solvent. Therefore, graphene oxide (GO) was explored as a promising material to synthesize polymer/GO composites. In this study, polyaniline nanofibers-coatepdo lystyrene/graphenoex ide (PANI-PS/GO) compositesw ere prepared by solution mixing process. GO can be easily coated on the PANI nanofibersfunctionalized PS to form a PS-PANVGO core-shell structure through the ,ng opening reaction of the epoxide groups in the GO sheets with the amine groups in the polyaniline nanofibers. This technique is simple and useful to get well-coated pS by GO through PANI nanofibers. The addition of GO into rhe pANl-coated pS increased the glass transition temperature of the PANI-pS/GO composites. The thermal stability of the composites was also improved compared with pS. These PANI nanofibers not only enhance the interfacial interaction, but also improve the electrical conductivify of the composite. The increase in the electrical conductiviry of the final composite may find potential uses in the electronic applications.
