Synthesis of Ce-YIG Nanopowder by Coprecipitation Method with Ultrasound Irradiation and its Magnetic Properties

Ce-substituted YIG (Ce0.2Y2.8Fe5O12) nanoparticles were prepared by coprecipitation method with ultrasonic irradiation. The magnetic properties of the particles were investigated. The particle heat treated at 700℃ shows a spherical shape and its size is smaller than 25 nm. The saturation magnetization of the Ce-YIG nanoparticles are 26 emu/g.
