Resource Recovery of Sludge as a Micro-media in an Activated Sludge Process

The experiment was conducted to evaluate the feasibility of sludge reuse as a micro-medium in activated sludge process. Both of experimental protocols were employed. A conventional activated sludge was tested as acontrol, the other was to add clinoptilolite df which 4000 mg/L were unvariningly sustained in aeration basin. Addition of material was made by origine material for 60 days(Model 1) and then was recomposed by dried one from exess sludge for following duration(Model 2). For drying sludge , organic matters in sludge was eliminated by 86% at 300oC. It was concluded that addition of dried sludge can be reused as micromedia to the same degree comparing to original material.
