Performance Evaluation of a Pedal Robot for Automated Automotive Testing

초록

With the decline in skilled automotive test personnel and the avoidance of difficult labor, long-duration automotive tests are increasing. This has led to an increasing need for test robots in indoor automotive tests that require long-term operation using chassis dynamometers, such as electric vehicle single-charge range tests that take more than 6 hours and indoor replacement tests for RDE tests that take about two hours. In this study, a pedal robot is designed and fabricated with 3 degrees of freedom that performs pedaling motions similar to human driving motions, and conducted a study for performance evaluation according to SAE J2951.
