초록

This paper describes design and construction process of a portable electrocardiograph utilizing unmodified wireless telephone handset with programmable virtual machine capability. The designed electrocardiograph consists of a wireless telephone handset with programmable virtual machine capability, a connection cable for serial communication, and a portable ECG sensor hardware module. The software processes signals and performs various tasks such as displaying in graphical format, storing data in non-volatile memory, transmit the data to data collecting server thorough wireless network for further study. This paper describes a case that anyone can easily take electrocardiograph and transmit the measured data to a database wirelessly to provide valuable information on the personal heart conditions using portable electrocardiograph utilizing programmable virtual machine in a mobile handset.
