Mesoporous materials with three-dimensional cubic structures are of particular interest for applications in catalysis, chemical sensing or separation because their pores are more easily accessible than those of other anisotropic structures. Among the reported cubic mesoporous silica materials SBA-16 appears to be one of the best candidates for calalytic support or absorbent applications because of the good thermal stability of the thick wall, economical synthesis with inexpensive silica sources, and large pores. synthesis of new nanostructured materials. Recently there have been reported that powders of mesoporous silicas such as mesoporous silica suck as SBA-15 and FSM-16 can be used as templates to synthesize various metal nanowires and nanoparicles. However, the synthesis of Bi-metallic nanoparticles in the mesoporous cubic SBA-16 can be used as templates to synthesize various metal nanowires and nanoparicles. However, the synthesis of Bi-metallic nanoparticles in the mesoporous cubic SBA-16 has not been well explored. Here we report the template synthesis of nanoparticle arrays of PtxSny(1<x, y<3) in the mesoporous cubic SBA-16
