Optical Simulator of Liquid Crystal Displays(II)

초록

To develop an electro-optical simulator of TN-LCD's, we have calculated the optical transmittance of liquid crystal cells using Berreman 4x4 matrix and dielectric tensor of a liquid crystal. As a result, we can obtain an optical transmittance as a function of Delta, applied voltage and wave length. These results coincide precisely with a Gooch and Terry prediction for a special case of the OFF-state.
