Plasma Synthesis of Spherical Titanium Dioxide from Titanium Nitride

Titanium Dioxide was synthesized by in-flight oxidation of titanium nitride using inductive thermal plasma. The structure and phase composition of products depended mailly on the oxygen flow rate, and the formation mechanism of TiO2 was investigated. The reaction was carried out initially by surface oxidation and melting, leading to core-shell structured composites with TiN cores and oxidized shell. ............
