광민감성 폴리머 AWG에서 편광의존성의 효과적인 제거방법에 관한 연구

Suppression of Polarization Dependence in the Design of an Arrayed-Waveguide Grating with Photodefinable Polyimide

초록

Photonics Conference 2001, 속초, 한화 콘도, (2001. 10. 31~11. 2) -- The polarization dependence of the arrayed-waveguide grating device is excellently suppressed by controlling the grating order (m) for a given refractive index difference between TE and TM modes within polyimide. The transmission characteristics of two AWGs for two grating orders, m=70 and 90, show wavelength shift of 5.04nm and nearly zero, respectively, strongly supporting and confirming the method that we have identified for the birefringence suppression. The fabricated results are also compared with the calculated one.
