Direct matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometric analyses of peptides and proteins electroblotted onto the various membranes after sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) separation have been demonstrated by several groups.
