포화흡수체로 산화 그래핀을 이용한 어븀 첨가 광섬유레이저의 큐스위칭

초록

We demonstrated a Q-switched erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) with graphene oxide as a saturable absorber. A thin layer of graphene-oxide was placed on the cross section of an optical fiber connector end and used as a saturable absorber in a ring cavity of EDFL. Our measurement indicated that the graphene oxide was self reduced due to strong light beam intensities in the laser cavity and acted as a saturable absorber because the Q-swicthed laser operation started after some time of strongly pumped condition of the laser cavity. The measured pulse width and energy of the Q-switched EDFL output were 7.8 ㎲ and 18 nJ at a repetition rate of 23 kHz for the pump LD current of 180 mA.
