The scientific basis for dementia care: priorities, challenges, and strategies

초록

Intended as a landmark in the evolution of the nursing science for dementia care, this paper presents an assessment of the current relevant scientific literature. Content analysis techniques were used to abstract substantive and syntactical elements from extant empirical studies of functioning, behavior, and quality of life for persons with dementia. Elements were next summarized as to scope and rigor of the work as a body of scientific knowledge.
