We investigate the existence of multiple solutions of the nonlinear beam equation in an interval u is periodic in t and even in x and t; where the nonlinearity ¡(bu+) crosses eigenvalues . Here we suppose that p > 2 and f = sÁ00 + ®h(x; t)(s > 0), h is bounded. This equation represents a bending beam supported by cables under a load f: The nonlinearity u+ models the fact that cables resist expansion but do not resist compression.
