Finite Element Analysis of an Inkjet Printhead for 3D Micro Structure Fabrication

초록

Various micro machining processes, for which the material is limited to silicon or plastics have been developed to meet the demand for micro machines. Recently several research workers have developed a method to form micro models. This method is similar to an inkjet priniting system. A thin layer is first fromed by molten metal drops ejected through a nozzle, and a second layer is formed on the first layer. The repetition of this process produces 3 dimensional models. In this paper, the subject of the investigation is the improvement of a drop on deman printhead by computer simulation program. The ruling physical effects are discussed to get a suitable model with appropriate simplifications. Based on the finite element method, the dynamic behavior of the drop generator is derived.
