초록

This study aims to propose standardized modular housing units optimized for rural spatial improvement projects. Although the Korea Rural Community Corporation (KRCC) has promoted settlement-type housing complexes, actualimplementation has often been hindered by challenging site conditions, tight construction timelines, and budget limitations. Toaddress these challenges, this study explores the potential of modular housing as a viable alternative that ensures both qualitycontrol and construction efficiency. Floor plans from major domestic and international modular housing manufacturers wereanalyzed, and representative structural dimensions were derived in accordance with KRCC design guidelines and logisticssystems. Based on these dimensions, spatial flexibility and combinability were evaluated. The proposed modular units were thenapplied to three representative rural housing types—returnees, youth, and senior households—to assess adaptability. The findings show that the proposed system ensures feasibility while offering practical solutions, providing a foundation for theimplementation and sustainability of rural spatial improvement projects.
