Development of an Air Data System with MEMS Sensors

초록

The essential sensors for a flight control system are the air data sensor and the attitude sensor. An air data sensor measures pressure altitude, rate of climb and true air speed of the vehicle using pressure transducers. Recently various types of pressure transducers using micro-electronic mechanical system (MEMS) technology are available. In this paper, an air data system was studied to check the feasibility of air data system using MEMS pressure sensors. Pitot tube design, hardware circuit design, processing algorithm development, onboard processor programming, test and evaluations are conducted.
