The study about primary design of the subsea manifold frame

초록

The subsea manifold is the equipment that gather the fluids from one or more subsea production christmas-trees and send it directly to the offshore platform, so it can minimize the subsea production system. The manifold frame structure is designed to support and protect the piping system, so it should have enough strength to endure various environmental and accidental loads. This paper presents the design procedure of subsea manifold frame structure. Based on consideration of associated rules of API RP 17P, initial design of the manifold frame structure is provided. Structural analyses using commercial finite element codes, Nastran, are carried out for installation and normal operation stages. Structural integrity is verified by calculations of yield and buckling strength of the frame member which is based on EUROCODE 3.
