Surgcal outcomes of radical maxillectomy in maxillary cancer

When the maxillary sinus cancer invades through the posterior wall into the infratemporal fossa, total maxillectomy, even if successfully carried out, has limitation in complete tumor removal with wide safety margins. We tried to find out the effect of radical maxillectomy for advanced maxillary sinus cancer by analyzing the surgical outcomes of radical maxillary in which the surgeon removes the tumor en bloc under direct vision of pterygoid muscle after exposing the root of pterygoid plate vialateral approach in cases of squamous cell carcinoma patients, who surgically treated, were studied retrospectively.
